Pitti Uomo has officially been launched in Florence with its 93rd edition and all is cinema at once. Elegance and modernity are the perfect combination for an easy, natural and confident man. The dynamism that characterizes him is represented exactly by the cinema where the movement is the rule, the same rule adopted by Pitti Uomo. It is not by chance if the slogan of this edition is “Pitti live movies”.
The most selected part of fashion industry is thus focused on the Florentine event, which includes the best of men’s fashion for Winter 2018/2019. The Fortezza was turned into a large movie house with 14 separate sections going from classic and contemporary fashion to the luxury underground, without forgetting the mix between the well-established brands and the new generation of design that allow to combine tradition and innovation in a single Festival.
A total of 1243 brands were present to this great fashion event, most of which – or better, almost the half of it – coming from abroad, in particular from Austria, Iceland, Sweden, Nigeria, Mexico, the Netherlands, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
There have also been several other related events such as the awarding to Claudio Del Vecchio, president of Brooks Brothers, for the bicentenary of this prestigious American retailer and its activity in providing 45 presidents of the USA with their clothes in a perfect combination of tradition and innovation. In this edition, a special focus has also been on the phenomenon of athleisure and the most contemporary styles of men’s fashion. Another talked-about aspect of the manifestation has been the presentation of the two most appreciated Japanese designers who decided to combine their talents in a single work, Undiscover by Jun Takahashi e Takahiromiyashita The-Soloist.
