Giorgio Armani also chose Milano Fashion Week to present his latest creations for season Fall/Winter 2018-19. It was the designer himself who explained that he brought on the catwalks a “rich, borderless collection that made full use of several cultures in order to create a style where the coexistence is opposed to the exclusion.”
King Armani’s show aimed at combining elements coming from different worlds, where the traces of other cultures were welcomed and put together in a perfect mix strictly related to the designer’s personal taste, a taste that Armani himself defined as “linear elegance” and in the pursuit of “kind inclusion”.
But what has actually taken place on the catwalks? The collection showed soft-line trousers in a Middle-East style, with jackets that were synonym of perfection and large berets realized in colored eco-fur. Armani’s new collection also included lace-up cuissards, short skirts moved by knots, capes and cloaks closed by belts and large skirts with asymmetrical hems matched with crescent-moon necklaces and tassels. But we could also find embroidered jackets and dungarees worn on naked bodies as well as total black velvet suits.
In the final sprint of Milano Fashion Week, Armani presented also his Emporio line by proposing shining miniskirts, shorts exposing the legs and to be worn with sensual Camperos. As far as colors are concerned, black was perfectly matched with green and turquoise. Finally, there was also room for accessories where the logo turned into belts and necklaces put on decorated overcoats, while super-precious mini-bags were worn as if they were necklaces.
